Queer Gothic Words

November 24 @ 12:15 pm 2:00 pm

An illustration of a gothic window, bookshelf and scaredlooking Dr Frankenstein. From the 1813 edition of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.

A monthly book club focusing on queer gothic writing. Every month we choose a book (or selection of shorter texts) by LGBTQ+ authors, or featuring queer characters/themes to read and discuss together. We alternate between classic and contemporary texts.

In November we’re reading The Summer Hikaru Died by Mokumokuren.

Please book in advance. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else.

Venue & Accessibility
We usually meet at the Lavender Menace Queer Books Archive but for November, we’ll meet at Black Medicine (2 Nicolson Street, EH8 9DH) and then head to the Radical Book Fair at Assembly Roxy afterwards.
