Queer Books Archive
This is the second of four Queer Gothic sessions. You do not need to register independently for each session.
Join us at the archive for Queer Gothic, a series of four discussion sessions centring on the gothic, haunting, and macabre in queer literature. These free and informal sessions will be led by academic and writer Cooper King.
Booking in advance is essential. Your booking covers all four sessions to allow the group to get to know each other. In order to foster an inclusive environment for sharing ideas and feeling comfortable and confident, we are limiting places for this event. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else.
You do not need to prepare anything in advance if you do not want to. However, you are welcome to bring your favourite queer gothic book, story, image, or poem to the first meeting to share with the group. Each week we will give you short extracts from some wonderful texts in the archive to take home with you and read.
Cooper (they/he) collaborated with writer Ellen Galford to facilitate Lavender Menace Queer Books Archive’s first interest-focused reading group, Lesbian Words. Gothic Words is the second of many forthcoming reading groups organized by the Lavender Menace Queer Books Archive. Keep up to date with us on social media and on our website for more information about how to get involved.
