Queer Books Archive
A friendly monthly discussion group about gay books and gay writing. Participants do not need to prepare anything in advance, but are welcome to bring along a text or extract from a piece of published gay writing they feel a connection with.
This is an informal discussion group for people who enjoy reading and talking about how gay writing has impacted our lives. These sessions are for anyone who identifies as a gay, bi, or queer man and wants to discuss books.
The theme for our July meeting is ‘Literary Ga(y)ze and the (Un)Desirable Male Body’ where we’ll examine descriptions of the male form in texts to reflect on — amongst other things — the relationship between queer desires and body ideals, not only in terms of the bodies that we desire in others but also those that we desire for ourselves.
