Queer Books Archive
The Lavender Menace Queer Books Archive joins up with Queer Film Night to bring you the December documentary: The Archivettes, about the Lesbian Herstory Archives. Founded in the 1970s in a New York City apartment, The Lesbian Herstory Archives is now the world’s largest collection of materials by and about lesbians. For more than 40 years, the all-volunteer organization has striven to combat lesbian invisibility by literally rescuing history from the trash.
Queer Film Night is passionate about queer film archives and folks from Lavender Menace Queer Books Archive will be there to discuss why it’s necessary for us to preserve and look at the stories from those who came before us.
Check out the new digital catalogue of the Lavender Menace Queer Books Archive collection available now online.
Film with English subtitles.
